The Bethesda System for Reporting Thyroid Cytopathology (Springer 2010) is a recently developed nomenclature scheme that allows for uniform reporting of thyroid FNA samples. The lexicon also ties specific diagnostic terminology to relative likelihoods of malignant outcome. The Web Atlas Committee of the Bethesda System Group has published a free online atlas with hundreds of example images correlating to the various diagnostic categories. This atlas may be of interest to pathologists pursuing consultations and to endocrinologists, radiologists, and necks surgeons who manage patients with thyroid diseases. The images in the atlas are intended for educational purposes and may be freely used for any educational endeavor. These images may be valuable for creation of didactic materials for talks with professional colleagues, for educating interested patients by example, for bettering one’s understanding of the reporting system itself, or for any other relevant purpose that relates to the diagnosis or treatment of thyroid diseases. Please credit the Papanicolaou Society and the Bethesda System for Reporting Thyroid Cytopathology if you copy the images for use or viewing outside of the atlas.
Sincerely,
