Richard G. Patton, M.D.

Dr. Patton has special interests in Gastrointestinal Pathology, Clinical Chemistry and Clinical Microbiology. He has participated in the College of American Pathologists (CAP) Laboratory Accreditation Program for 25 years, serving as Washington State Commissioner, Pacific NW Regional Commissioner, and most recently as a member of the Laboratory Accreditation Committee. He is also the past Chief of Staff of Northwest Hospital and former President of the Washington State Society of Pathologists.
Dr. Patton attended medical school at the University of Nebraska College of Medicine in Omaha. He completed residencies in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and in Clinical Microbiology at the University of Washington in Seattle. During his final year of residency, he was Chief Resident. Dr. Patton is board certified in Anatomic Pathology, Clinical Pathology, and Cytopathology. He has additional sub-specialty expertise in Laboratory Administration. Dr. Patton has been the Director of Laboratories at Northwest Hospital and Medical Center in Seattle since 1979.
