Richard Whitten, M.D.

Dr. Whitten is currently the Medical Director for the Clinical Laboratory of Providence St. Peter Hospital and is an adjunct clinical assistant professor at the University of Washington, Department of Laboratory Medicine.

Dr. Whitten obtained his Medical Degree from the University of Utah School of Medicine in Salt Lake City. He is fellowship trained in Pediatric Pathology from the Children's Hospital and Medical Center in Seattle. He also completed residencies in Anatomic Pathology and Laboratory Medicine from the University of Washington in Seattle.

 

Dr. Whitten is board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology. He holds additional sub-specialty expertise in Clinical Pathology and Malariology. He has also been actively engaged in malaria research in Malawi, Africa since 1994.
