PNL2

Formalin-fixed, paraffin embedded tissue block or cell block, or 1 unstained charged slide for each test requested plus 3-4 additional unstained slides cut at 4 microns. Adequate space on each slide for control tissue is required.

The PNL2 antibody reacts to yet to identified antigen(s) that are restricted to melanocytes and neutrophils. PNL2 is expressed in junctional and superficial dermal components of nevi, and is a rather sensitive and specific marker for melanoma (except desmoplastic melanoma). It is also expressed in clear cell sarcoma, melanotic schwannoma, and tumors of the PEComa family, including angiomyolipoma and lymphagioleiomyomatosis.
