Cytokeratin 7, an intermediate filament of the cytoskeleton, is expressed in most ductal, glandular, and urothelial cells. When used in conjunction with cytokeratin 20, the CK20 / CK7 immunoprofile may facilitate the identification of primary site of origin of carcinoma presenting as metastasis.
